This is another one of those photos where for a minute I didn't recognize our own skyline:

The lens I would love to have for my camera is this:

I have to imagine it would take the same kind of pictures as your lens there...

One thing I hope, is when this tower goes live, the tower has some sort of cool lighting to it.

The buildings in downtown don't have no unique lighting to it, like other buildings in other cities. Take for example -

http://www.troyh.us/photos/City%20Skylines%20&%20Downtown/13704%20Dallas%20skyline%20at%20night.jpg

Something like that building in Dallas.

Go back in the thread and you will find all the lighting info. Blows that in Dallas AWAY.

Or, we can just tell you that the three inlets (or whatever you want to call them) on the tower will have lights running all the way up to the top of the tower AND they can be any color of the spectrum--unlike the bank tower in Dallas which is only ever green...

AWESOME! That's great news. If this building really comes alive in OKC, I wish others would look at the other towers and say, "we need to try and dwarf the Devon Tower," thus rebuilding all towers, for a more modern look.

The Chase Tower in Indianapolis was once ugly like the Chase Tower here. The whole facade got an upgrade and now it's like shiny reflective glass. I wish this could be done to our Chase tower, but I doubt the cowboy landlord will dishout the bucks to do that. Even a dark tinted all black facade would look awesome, I think...

I'm not so much concerned about the facade of the other buildings as much as I am about the height. The Devon tower really is going to look, and already does look, out of place in the skyline. It is so wide and will be so tall. Everything else looks tiny. We really need some more height and width going into the skyline to balance it out.

Did the usual video today of construction. I was south of the tower and a guy pulls up in front of me and gets out in the middle of the road and starts shooting pictures. I thought, "Hey I should say something to this guy." We start talking and he says, "OKCTalk right?" Turns out it was metro. What's the chance of that happening? I filmed him driving away though. Forever immortalized now.

I always wonder how many OKCTalkers I see as I look out my windows towards the tower and the Colcord. And how many of you see me seeing you?

An update from my NW viewpoint - 138th and Penn - seems like it goes higher by the day now. On a clear day you can notice the glass high enough that it doesn't look like dark silhouette. At night it is much more prominent. Last night I also could catch a glimpse while on the ramp from Kilpatrick to Hefner Pkwy.

I was toying around on the architects website and viewing the 2 night shots back and forth, it seemed that the crown will be lit the same way as the inlets. Does anyone know if this is correct? I had seen the two shots before but the way they flipped back and forth on their site made me see it more than posted renderings.

Although I work with a front row seat to the construction, I actually have very little time to look out the window. When I do, I see people walking around taking pictures every time. I'm sure I've seen a few OKCtalkers but didn't know it.

I drive by Devon Tower everyday on my to work, and every time it seem to be more elegant than the day before. Its massive and astonishing, and didn't realize how one building can change the skyline so much. When completed it will indeed be one of the most iconic skyscrapers in the nation.

Yup. Pete can set up with CafePress. First have the members submit designs then vote for a winner. Maybe the top 3 designs to be chosen, so people have a choice to pick when buying one. Profits go to Pete for the site costs.

The John Hancock dwarfs all around it too, but it looks fine. Go have a drink at the Signature Club there and you'll see that you look 'down' on the roofs of many a pretty good sized building(s).
