Is there only work being on the demo for the garage or are they still working in the main tower?

They are also working in the main tower preparing for apartments and the hotel.

Our building management at BancFirst Tower across the street have said that the southbound lanes of Broadway are going to close on the 18th for demolition to begin and that they will be closed throughout construction of the new garage for the next 10-14 months.

That is correct. What we were told was that the will have one lane in each direction on the east side of the median during this time.

Yes! Haven’t been in forever, but we love Ruth’s Chris.

Hopefully it won't close at 5pm, amirite?

In all seriousness, this is a big get for the FNC! Will be anticipating the other offerings they are able to secure!

I don’t hate it, but I wish it was a local steakhouse. I just can’t see myself going to a Ruth Chris over Broadway 10, red, the ranch, boulevard, mahogany.

There will be a lot of really excited people so that’s good. Hopefully some of the other spaces are local operations and this doesn’t just get filled up with high end chains.

    That's 4 prime steakhouses downtown...

Given that the other 3 are local, I really hope that this one struggles. I would prefer another upscale concept that is not in OKC such as Ocean Prime.

Sucks. Much rather have a different concept (S&W, Morton's, Oceanaire) May be the odd guy out but I have eaten at Ruth Chris' 8-10 times all over the country (including the one in Tulsa) and have never had a good experience. I have literally walked by our servers taking a break on the way to the bar to get my own drink.

They get good reviews in most places. Will be popular with national visitors. Locals will still go to the better local steak houses as they do most places. All in all, it enhances outsiders view of downtown OKC.

I wish there was a "like" feature. This post deserves one. For locals, they may not prefer this place. But people from Jacksonville? They will be more apt to try it before Broadway 10.

Bob's Steak and Chop House is going into the Omni as well.

That's 3 steakhouses within a few blocks on Robinson.

    So, we'll have:

    Bob's
    Ruth's Chris
    Mickey Mantle's
    Mahogany
    Red Prime
    Broadway 10

I'll vouch for Bob's, having eaten there a few times. Very expensive but very good,

I view this as positive news. I have eaten at Ruth Chris in New Orleans where they got their start in 1965 (see below), along with Atlanta and Dallas location (North Dallas Tollway) and have always had a great experience. To me this is a venerable name recognition steak house that does it right! I also like local options like Red and Mahogany when I am in town. This is a good catch for OKC!

Dang, I forgot about Broadway 10 and didn't even realize another one was going into the Omni.

There's no way that all 6 of these survive. Of course, if there's anywhere 6 steakhouses could survive within a 1 mile radius, it's Oklahoma City.

Agreed. Excited about Bob's. Del Frisco would be great or a Capital Grill. RC is a start though even though won't be in my rotation
