Default October 7th sales tax election

On October 7th, Moore voters will asked to vote on a temporary 1/2 cent sales tax for four years. If approved the sales tax would increase 7.5% to 8.0%. This tax is to provide funding for public safety improvements. It includes Fire department enhancements(3 new stations for a total of 4) @ $6.179 million, Police department enhancements @ $1.915 million, and Emergency Management upgrades @ $1.995 million. For more info go to the city's website, City of Moore, Oklahoma - Official Website.

I voted for this resolution to pass. It's a great way for the emergency services to upgrade their facilities.

What were the police enhancements? Most of the info that I received was about the fire department. I always see police officers in the east Moore area. They sure do maintain their visibility.

At the rate that Moore is growing...I believe we needed the upgrading... I hope our fearless leaders do a good job of using the funding wisely...
I have lived in Moore since 1968 and We have surely grown up...
