TGI Fridays on NW Expressway remodeling

I was driving down NW Expressway this morning and noticed the TGIF on NW Expressway near Meridian was remodeling and expanding. They are open during the remodel.

What does that have to do with TGIF?

I turned 21 around the time the Yucatan was popular. I spent a lot of time there, but not really vey much money. They always had coin beer and drink specials. I was kind of sad when I saw TGIF's move in, even though I hadn't been to the Yucatan in a while.

Anyone remember ChiChi's Mexican restaurant? It was there before that.

Anyways, glad to see TGI Friday's remodeling.

Yes, I remember Chi-Chi's very well!

They opened there in the early 70's and were a real sensation for a while, much like Ted's is now.

Huge portions and fried ice cream!


Their bar area was quite the place to go for a while, too.


It was a big chain and I think there are still some open elsewhere.

I remember them. My parents took me there a few times for dinner. It just sorta faded away though.
