A far North TJ's can't come soon enough. When the Nichols Hills location opened, we always went shortly after opening time on the weekends. We rarely go much later than that, but when we do, it's either busy enough to make me second-guess even going there or it's just so busy that I choose not to go in.
Hopefully one or two more locations would alleviate that, but I'm not sure it would. The old "If you build it, they will come" phenomenon.
Tulsa World doing their Oklahoman impression where they don't know how to get information, so they merely call TJ's who of course denies the Broken Arrow location, using carefully worded semantics.
TJ's did the exact same thing when we broke story about them coming to Nichols Hills -- causing the Oklahoman to characterize the news as unfounded rumors -- and then a few months later they formally announced that site and almost immediately started work.
I've stopped listing the sources for my reports because these people aren't smart enough to figure it out on their own.

Is a Trader Joe's coming to Broken Arrow? The company and city officials are mum
Nov 7, 2024
Social media is buzzing about a Trader Joe’s possibly coming to Broken Arrow.
But neither city officials nor the company would confirm.
“We are actively looking at hundreds of neighborhoods across the country, including the Tulsa area, as we hope to open more new neighborhood stores each year,” Trader Joe’s Public Relations Manager Nakia Rohde told the Tulsa World in an email.
“At this time, we do not have a location confirmed in Broken Arrow,” she said.
OKC.talk.com, said on its Facebook page that “plans have been filed for a TJ’s at 1525 E. Hillside in Broken Arrow.
“The store will be free-standing near Broken Arrow Expressway and S. 177th E. Avenue adjacent to Target.”
The site did not list a source for its information.
Likewise, BA Buzz posted on its Facebook page:
“After years of speculation, it appears Trader Joe’s is looking to build a new location in Broken Arrow!!! The site is along Hillside Drive across from Dick’s Sporting Goods. It’s important to note that company officials have not confirmed this new location on their list of new stores, but the project is out to bid.”
That social media site also did not list a source for its information.
A spokeswoman for the Broken Arrow city manager said city officials do not know of any specific plans for a new store there.
“I hope it comes, but we don’t know yet,” said Lesa Jones, operations and communications officer for the City Manager’s Office.
This seems a lot better than the Oklahoman in that they actually credited OKCTalk as the source. They're also not denying your reporting, but just sharing what the company said. Certainly not in-depth reporting, but not the shoddy plagiarism of the Oklahoman.
The Oneta/Wagoner area is booming. South Tulsa's last remaining square mile of vacant land is being filled in with subdivisions. Broken Arrow isnt too far behind as well. An old friend of mine recently moved from the Cedar Ridge area to the Forest Ridge area because he was tired of the traffic in South Tulsa/Broken Arrow. Fair Oaks isnt far away and if anything ever comes of that it will further grow the East.
I love how OKCTalk breaks the news of a new TJ in Tulsa. TulsaNow is so dead. Lol
Anyways, I'm happy to see them finally building a suburban location in Oklahoma. There aren't too many areas as nice as brookside or Nichols Hills Plaza in Oklahoma, so hopefully them venturing away from that means they will build more across the state in the next few years.
I own TulsaTalk.com.
However, with all due respect, I don't really care about Tulsa.
What drives me and this site is stupid, illogical passion for OKC. I've had it since I was a little kid when I'd ride with my dad downtown or to Citizens Bank at 23rd & Classen.
It took me over a decade to build this site to where it was active and impactful, and I lost a ton of money in the process.
I've had offers by others to run TulsaTalk but there is simply no way anyone would ever put into it what I have done here. And I don't mean that as a humble brag, it's more embarrassing than anything else. There is a good deal of expense and certainly time that would be required and why would I do that for something where I don't have any real passion or interest? Even my ownership of the Gazette was just a big distraction that kept me for spending more time on what I really care about.
Intel has the second OKC location to be at Rockwell and Expressway (Hobby Lobby side).
