Thread: Jack's Bakehouse

  1. Far North Jack's Bakehouse

I didn't see a thread for this, they usually do all the farmer's markets at Scissortail Park, but they now have a location. It is in the old spot Nourished occupied. It is on the first floor of the Carnegie Centre down the hall from Udander. This is a small operation, but the pastries are so darn good. They have my favorite Croissant in the city. Go Check it out. They have limited hours so make sure and buy enough for a week.

Thursday, Friday, and Saturday - 9am to 2pm

Two weeks in a row, the pastries have been excellent. They are in the old library building north of cafe 324. Well worth the trip downtown.Click image for larger version.

I stopped by yesterday and I was not dissapointed. This place gets laminated pastry right (i.e. croissants and puff pastry) and exceeds any I've had elsewhere. Runner up is Quincy Bake Shop. I have been underwhelmed by laminated pastries from Gilden Acorn and Harvey Bakery.

This has been your laminated dough update from Doctortaco.

As fellow market bakers, we're so excited for Aaron and Rhonda and wish them all the success in this space. We went by on their second weekend and couldn't help ourselves but come away with some fresh focaccia, danishes, and a few cruffins.

Update. The ham and cheese croissant was amazing. Also the prices here are really solid for downtown.

The Tomato Basil pastry and the mushroom pastry were amazing. And the lamination on their pastries is among the best, if not the best, I have had in OKC.

We definitely plan on going back.

Just split an Almond Croissant for dessert, all I can say is OMG. Wow, James Beard pastry.
