Thread: OU Tailgating

  1. Default OU Tailgating

Does anyone know of a Norman property owner that parks cars on game days? A group of friends and I lost our tailgating spot of 15 yrs on Dean's Row and we need to find a new site. We pay for the whole year up front so the landlord doesn't have to collect every week. We are extremely clean and relatively quiet (we have a TV hook up to watch games before and after the OU game. Any prospects would be appreciated.

I know of a high quality campus parking operator.

They require 10 years of tax returns.

    I'm just kidding,

But for real, there was an online group paying college kids to vacate their houses on gamedays.

In exchange, renting out gameday houses for the season.

We used to charge $10 for the out of towners to park in the yard

What's the going rate now for a yard parking spot around campus?

Stuff like this - it's a good idea. There are people wanting to do college re-get-togethers.

We paid $25 a game each and there are 7 or 8 of us. So it was $175/200 per game.

When I go to games, there are lots by the Walgreens on flood...no charge...but not ideal for a tailgating hangout.

Those are so close to the north side of the paid yard lots...but walking is part of it.

    Easy to walk from there.

But I totally get it if you are looking to camp out and bbq, etc.

We were on parsons and people would pay due to proximity.

Maybe it's OK to pay it forward, so to speak. The people with good paying jobs can give the locals an income bump during college...and on it goes...

    Can't wait!
