Cumulus field at the moment looks at least somewhat promising for isolated storms around the Metro this afternoon. Nothing substantial, but I’ll take anything at this point.
Will Rogers received measurable precipitation for the first time since the morning of June 10th.
Had a very nice shower in the MacArthur and Memorial area. Probably 20+ minutes of good, steady rain. Then the sun popped and now we have a sauna! Wow.
We got a few random sprinkles down on the south side near Crossroads, but Mother Nature never could get anything more than that going unfortunately. Judging by rainfall reports from personal weather stations (AmbientWeather.net), looks like the main winners for rain were in a line from yukon to just NW of Lake Hefner to rural NW Edmond. Several PWS near NW 122nd & MacArthur report about 1/4" of rainfall.
The east half of Stillwater is finally getting a heavy shower with thunder as of 7:30pm. Formed almost overhead. Nearby Cushing has a good pop up storm, too.

Nice outflow boundary moved through OKC just before 8:00 to cool things down a decent amount. Looking at 5-6 more days of 103-105 degree highs and no precip before a welcome pattern change, at least temporarily.
Rain chances across the state returning the 28th and 29th then again the 31st and 1st. Great news especially during a traditionally dry time of year.
Forecasted rainfall this weekend
I sure hope so, the rain would be much needed after the extreme heat
Hoping these totals slide south a bit but still should be beneficial especially in late July! Areas to the north are getting slammed. St Louis may have just recorded a 500 year flash flood event.
Lol poor Texas
Still on track for decent rains across the northern half of the state Thursday into Sunday. Kansas and Missouri…wow. I went through there last week and it’s like night and day compared to OK and TX. Lush green everywhere
Doesn’t look like okc will even get enough rain to even notice.
Almost to the point where I’d rather miss out on the rains so that our humidity at least continues to stay down when the death ridge builds back in again starting on Sunday.
I'll be thankful for whatever we receive and I'm sure our ranchers and farmers will be as well. Any little bit will probably help refill their ponds, let the grasses hang on a little longer, etc.
I really need a good 3-4 day slow falling rain event to make any difference at my farm. As much as I'd love to see my pond full. I'd rather see my pasture green right now and for that I need the water to saturate and not just hit the ground and run to my pond.
I have cracks in my clay right now that rival the Grand Canyon.
It's POURING at NW Exp and Rockwell. Lightening up a bit but it went on for 20 minutes. I had to run out and put my windows up before my poor car got soaked.
Some pop up style storms drifting over some lucky individuals.
It had stopped but now it's POURING more than before plus wind. Hope it's doing this 3 miles north.
We got to Louie's NW Exp at 4ish. My car showed 107. When we left at 5:45ish my car showed 89.
HRRR showing another round of storms developing in NE OK in the early morning hours then more across northern and central OK during the day on Thursday
