Remember when Pratt’s opened their last store in Edmond. A natural grocery store too early for the OKC area. Even had a deli run by the Earth, who have survived in their original Norman location.

Dang. Living out here in the "Food Desert" of a surrounded suburb of OKC Proper caused me to forget that fact. Sorry. I've never figured out what the attraction of Aldi is. Have you? Is the concept to always have a Cart Rental Fee close at hand? I still miss Skaggs . . . Albertsons . . . Albertsons/Skaggs . . . Skaggs/Albertsons . . . Busley's . . . and Red Owl. =~) And Safeway . . .

This post made me laugh as you recalled of all the various Skaggs/Albertsons combination of names in the OKC Metro. I think at one point (mid to late 80s?) some were named "Skaggs Alpha-Beta" and then for a short time in the early 90's, they were renamed "Jewel-Osco" for about 5 minutes.
