Gallinari is one I wish we could keep; however his last reported salary was $22,615,559. What's your take BoulderSooner...

Gonna miss Chris Paul, good times with Oklahoma City Hornets & Thunder.
What's the deadline date and how many will be trimmed.
Hervey too. So, technically, none of them are with the Thunder now. And likely none of them will be.
There is no chance Gallinari returns. We're trying to lose this season. Best case is that we will sign and trade him to a team without cap room, but we'd only get anything worthwhile if we take on a bad contract.
Thunder need to not mess around this season and just go into full tank mode. They don't need any more picks they just need to get into the lotto and try to get some top talent. They have enough talent today if they added a player here or there they could prob sneak into the playoffs but that would only delay the rebuild. Take your lumps and tank it this season. Hopefully the pain doesn't last too long.
Any team can always use more picks. Picks are assets that you can use to (a) draft players or (b) trade for other assets. Since the Thunder want to be bad this upcoming season so their pick will be high in the loaded 2021 draft, they don't want good players back in these trades (unless they're really young and teams generally don't give up good, young players). Thus, the Thunder probably should want more picks.
And, I'd expect the Thunder to be out of the playoffs for the next few seasons. Their cornerstone players right now are 20, 21, and 22. They're building long term. They're not going to rush it. Just enjoy the development. Young teams can be fun because expectations are so low.
If Woj is right the Thunder is blowing up the trade lines.
What if we make the whole team out of draft picks?
My god Horford's contract is miserable. He's a nice player but oooof.
Thunder are looking to flip Kelly Oubre for a first round pick and Thunder are deep in talks with Mavericks on a sign and trade that would send Gallianari for #18 pick
A couple things I am wondering about, but can't find the answer:
1. How many of our own first round picks do we own over the next 4 years?
2. What is the salary floor for this season?
Vasilije Micic
Point Guard, HTWT 6 ft 6 in - 203 lbs., DOB: January 13, 1994 - Age 26 - Yugoslavia
Aleksej Pokusevski, 7 foot, Center. The Thunder selected 18-year-old Serbian forward Aleksej Pokusevski with the No. 17 pick in the NBA draft Wednesday night.
The Thunder moved up to the 17th pick by trading Ricky Rubio and picks 25 and 28 to the Timberwolves. The complete deal has not been announced.--Oklahoman, Breaking News - Joe Mussatto, November 18, 2020
OKC is doing what we thought they'd do. Trading out good players so they can lose this season, but bringing assets and talent. Puko is a high upside swing for the fences, but it's going to take him a while. We'll see about the other three Euros they got on draft night. More moves are coming...
In trades, you have to take money back. So, even though the Thunder keep trading players, they get others back. Horford is a big contract. Hard to imagine OKC goes into the season with Horford, Adams, and Muscala.
I want to blow this picture up and put it in my living room. It's incredible.
All you can evaluate players on are their strengths, weaknesses and potential. You can't simulate their performance in actual game situation because each player is different.
Younger rookies have to be developed...
There are fewer diamonds-in-the-rough players out there like a Luguentz Dort or a Donovan Mitchell.
Like the direction the Thunder are headed.
the current thunder projected roster (as of today) is going to be very competitive ..
SGA Dort Oubre Horford and Adams is a solid starting 5 ..
