New concept to take over Hopdoddy space in Chisholm Creek

Provision Concepts, proprietors of Broadway 10, Hatch, Sidecar, Birra Birra and Bibi's Ice Cream, will add a new concept to Chisholm Creek at Memorial Road and N. Western.

    [prbreak][/prbreak]

Chicket Foot will feature fried chicken, homemade cinnamon rolls and a full bar in the space most recently occupied by Hopdoddy.

The burger chain recently announced they would not be reopening their two locations in Oklahoma City, the second being in Nichols Hills Plaza.

Chicken Foot will be the most casual of the Provision offerings with counter service and focus on a limited number of menu items.

There will also be plenty of TV's for watching sporting events and the hope is to be fully open in about 3 months.

Provision Concepts Founder Jeff Dixon said, “This might be our most fun and casual concept yet. The menu will be fried chicken, homemade Cinnamon Rolls, and of course a full bar. The price point should be very approachable, too.”

The group will also open their third Sidecar location on Cherry Street in Tulsa.

The new restaurant will be directly next to Birra Birra and Bibi's on the lake at Chisholm Creek. Provision also operates Hatch and Sidecar in the Tract 39 section of Chisholm Creek; the latter recently doubled their rooftop bar space.

Great to see this place taken so fast.

I think this is a great fit too. Can’t wait to try it out. And who doesn’t like a good cinnamin roll.

Not sure what is happening at the old Hopdoddy spot in NH Plaza but I suspect Washington Prime will soon find a new taker.

    That is a great spot.

So this is a new to market concept correct? Meaning none exist elsewhere? Pretty cool if so, can be risky yet can be rewarding if it goes over well. Then its the place to go plus the place to take out of town family and friends to try out. And as these places work well they help surrounding businesses too. If one place is packed then places close get extra business.

    Curious to see their menu.

Yes, this will be the first location for the concept.

And not one that someone immediately associates with (theoretically) good fried chicken, but maybe I'm too much of a food snob to see the attractiveness/humor in it. It's kinda funny, but I wouldn't be thinking "In the mood for fried chicken, let's go to Chicken Foot". Almost ordered chicken feet at Chow's one time, but settled for duck tongues instead.

Cinnamon rolls may be my favorite thing in the enitre world, so I look forward to that!

Agreed. When I saw the name my first thought was a questionably-named Chinese restaurant, not a questionably-named fried chicken/southern? restaurant.

Love the name! For those who don't know, Chicken Foot is also a really fun domino game. I bet they will have that too!

At first I thought it was a new venture of Sammy Hagar.

One of the main points of branding is to generate buzz and get people talking about the brand - and based on the comments so far, they're off to a great start.

It looks like a cool place but I do not really like the name chicken foot, "Let's go eat chicken foot" or "let's eat at chicken foot" they could have done better

Yeah, that’s the same reason I never eat at Potbelly’s.

They might as well have named it: The Fat Boy Sandwich Company

    Just too weird.

In that case, why didn’t they go with F*ck You Chicken?

You probably weren't one of them, but I caught flack for thinking the same thing when gigglez opened in midtown.

Makes you wonder who comes up with these names. I have always wondered why Dress Barn stayed in business so long.

I honestly have no knowledge of what Gigglez is/was, but I think it sounds like a comedy club. How far off am I?
