OKC Hobbies & RC closing

OKC Hobbies and RC has been a pretty regular fixture in the radio controlled car/airplane market for a long time, and only a few years ago built and opened a brand new store on S Walker. The family put up a facebook post last month that they are closing down, and the building has already been vacated.

An OKC building permit appears to indicate the building will be converted to a car repair shop, "Southside Garage."

Sorry to hear that. I did notice Saturday that a new RC car place has opened on NW 23rd. I think it was at Drexel.

I am bummed to hear it will be one more garage.
I did not know the zoning allow that in such a residential neighborhood.

Yeah that surprises me as well; however, there's a large car repair shop along 89th just bit north and west of that location. Wonder if there will be any issue arise once it becomes more publicly known. I know people that live in that area and there's really never been much of an active HOA there. Not sure how that might unfold.
