I think Omni planned for the future and made the perfect spot for this sky walk to connect right by the parking garage skywalk. They placed a window the size
Of a skywalk randomly right where one logically would go.
I think if they ever add one. It will be right there and not another one across 4th
For once we have a developer forcing street interaction (which historically doesn't seem to be the case) and they catch flak for it. I think this is a great development and the best we could hope for out of a super block development.
Drove by today and it looks like they are pouring the curbs in between the Omni and the CC.
Is it the angle or is the skybrige only between the garage and the CC and not connected to the hotel?
That is correct, Omni (I think) decided they were not interested in the skybridge.
Gotcha. And no connector between the hotel and the garage either huh? That's so freaking weird!!!!!
I know we talked about the 4th st/skybridge thing before. It just seems soooooo weird!
It's good for the CC folks because they can park and then go right over to the CC. I'm wondering if the hotel didn't want it because they didn't want to have non-hotel CC traffic in their space???? I believe the Renaissance had some issues like that.
Pavers going down:
I guess they decided against emergency and everyday traffic use. I see bollards on both ends of the street. Unless they're the removable kind. If so that's gonna be a pain for whoever has to unistall them everyday.
They are going in after the pavers, so I assume they can be removed.
Yea the closeup makes more sense.
Does anyone think the color scheme is a little bit uninspiring like I do?
Meh, the pavers match the P180 scheme throughout downtown. But yea they probably could have used more exciting colors for the eventual brown overhanging structures.
Matching the P180 design elements is nice, I didn't remember they were doing that for this.
You can see in the last photo that the bollards in the street are removable:
Wondering if the shade structures are still planned?
I've heard the hold up is on the manufacturer's end. Should be April.
