Why are the Tribes' casinos and gambling not held to the same set of standards as big tobacco and alcohol?

In my opinion, the Tribes are being allowed to encourage gambling to our children and poor.

    Problem gambling is REAL.

Gambling, like alcoholism and substance abuse, is addictive.

Why, other than the influx of money to the corporate media giants, are the Tribes allowed to suggest to our people, young and old, that everyone is having such a great time and winning the jackpot?

Are our political leaders on the take? ie. Frank Keating and Brad Henry come to mind.

Kevin Stitt and Oklahoma Legislators are you listening?

LOL These bother you more than OG&E commercials? Apparently TV is addictive as well and not good for the brain cells. As someone suggest, turn the TV off.

TV is off mostly. Got ya thinking just a little bit about all the money the Tribes are bringing in though, didn't I. Neither me, nor anyone else for that matter, will ever know how much money the Okies spend with the Tribes. Oh, I know they report "all gross revenue." Wink wink.

People would still know the casino exists if it wasn't advertised. A vast majority of people who go to casinos are not addicted, problem gamblers just like a vast majority of people who enjoy beer or wine aren't alcoholics. If a person has a gambling addiction, they are going to be at the casino whether it's advertised on TV or not.

Actually, you reminded me I haven't been to a casino in awhile. Thanks for the reminder, we're gonna stop by the Hard Rock on our way back from dropping off the grand baby (man, I hope I can still make the mortgage after I'm done).

If having a nice laugh at your hysteria IS what you mean, then yes, yes you did!

Good reminder! I'll have to head out this weekend too (got to get some 3 card poker in!), but first I need to pawn all my kids toys and electronics and then sell some plasma, since I'm evidently so messed up with the gambling.
