Yeah I didn’t they would serve actual bibimbap. I don’t think Riviere serves it either. La Brasa serves a legit dolsat bibimbap. Anywhere else in the core, outside of taste of Korea, that you can get dolsat bibimbap? That’s one of my favorite dishes of any cuisine. Man, need to get back to la brasa soon, it’s been too long. Talking about it makes me hungry

I think I read this restaurant will be a New Mexican focus, so if true that will definitely add to the culinary diversity since (like Chinese) there's many different types of Mexican food. ...

A New Mexican focused cuisine would be a delight. I've never understood why Tex Mex thrives but no one wants to produce a maize centric menu in Oklahoma.

Have eaten at a few New Mexican places in our travels and this would be welcomed here. I think Green Chile Cafe in Yukon in New-Mexico-centric, but we weren't too impressed with it the time we went and it's far enough away from us so that we don't really think about returning to it.

We live about a mile from the San Marcos on Rockwell. About once a year we decide that since they’re always busy we should try them again. And every time we leave wondering why they’re so well liked.

    This project has died.

There was a dispute in the family that owns San Marcos, and they decided not to go forward with this new restaurant.

Something will likely go into that space, but it won't be San Marcos.

Rumors of the demise is greatly exagerated?

Been meaning to post about this...

The San Marcos deal fell through so Jeff Rogers & Co. is doing a new place called Chico Blanco.

They closed Liberty (also Jeff Rogers) and are redoing that space and adding the corner spot in the Brewer building as well.

The Chico Blanco food trucks and restaturants in the DFW area are quite popular.

    I know they are close.

I'd guess in the next couple of weeks.

Is there a set opening date? I have company coming in from out of town and would love to take them there.

I suspect that since the Tipsy Tiki bar below Chico Blanco is under the same ownership, you'll be able to order food on their patio as well.

It's a great setup and with Bourbon Street right across the canal and Brickopolis and their mini-golf and popular canal-side bar, that area has some real life.

The restaurant itself is a huge place.
