Re: 2019 Womens College World Series: Road to Oklahoma City
One of the events that has the potential to grow like the NFR which outgrew our city for a bigger stage. Dito your comment about long-term investment, bond support for this investment will impact OKC for years beyond 2035. Can't wait to see the 2020 finished product $27.5 million in improvements.
Don't be surprise to see another stadium expansion-renovation prior to the term of the current agreement. ESPN's telecasts have taken this tournament to a new level.
BTW, love the term 'Survival Saturday,' instead of 'Elimination Saturday' --puts a positive spin on it.

Being out of state, l never see. Do they use any of the other 3 diamonds for actual WCWS games?

Re: 2019 Womens College World Series: Road to Oklahoma City
First game for the Sooners vs UCLA is tonight at 6:30, weather permitting.
One interesting thing I've noticed in "water cooler" discussions is that casual fans are a bit less engaged this year I think because of the really crazy Saturday schedule that emerged because of the weather delay. And no one really thought OU would have to play the "if-necessary" game vs Bama. The ESPN talking heads last night were discussing some sentiments expressed by coaches that an "off day" should be added to the WCWS schedule between the two elimination brackets and the finals. In this case, such a day would seemingly benefit OU, but who knows. Perhaps finding their bats vs Bama is a sign they need to just keep playing
OU goes in tonight arguably a bit more fatigued than UCLA, but perhaps the adversity can serve them positively in some way. Sure hope we can see OU grab their third Natty in four years!

SoonerDave they are either a bit fatigued or rejuvenated; let's see who shows up.
Seems to have taken the Sooners some time to jump start those bats; they really pelted Bama in the 2nd meeting to advance to the championship finals best of 3 bracket against UCLA.

Congratulations to the UCLA Bruins softball team on an outstanding run in winning the 2019 WCWS.
Great run for our OU Sooner women's softball team & Coach Patty Gasso; we know you will be back in 2020.
