Pete Buttigieg has a strong voice and knows how to give a good speech. I wouldn't be surprised if he becomes one of the leading candidates, like in the top 5.

I thought he was already in that group - out of the 21?

So....Buttifieg just had a "serious" meeting with Al Sharpton today.

Anyone reconsidering their take on him as a moderate?

Face it, if he were a straight white mayor of some town in Indiana, not only would people not be able to pronounce his name, they wouldn't even be trying.

I'm trying to imagine the hysteria the media would be in if a Republican met with Sharpton and also asked how to eat fried chicken.

Who in the world is considering him a moderate? He says virtually the same things as Sanders and Warren but unlikevSanders, he refuses to call himself a socialist, which is where his economic policy sits.

I haven’t jumped aboard Team Pete, but in all fairness, to call him just a “sweet talkin pretty face” is somebody who obviously knows nothing about him.
    - Graduated, with honors, from Harvard
    - A Rhodes Scholar, he has a masters from Pembroke/Oxford.
    - Naval Intelligence Officer - served in Afghanistan.
    - Speaks seven languages.
    - Elected Mayor of South Bend.
    - Won re-election with 80% of the vote.
    - Lauded by many Republicans in Indiana.

Whether or not now is his time, he is clearly not just another pretty face.

Definitely not but economically, he is a radical trying to say the economy is bad and unfair to the disadvantaged when we are in a time the "disadvantaged" are employed at numbers never seen before.

I am with you. I was originally disarmed to his radicalism because I figured he was a mayor, and slightly more down to earth. My initial impression of him was dead wrong.

That being said, I think many out there still share my original impression of him. As a down to earth pragmatic guy.

Pretty sad but it's nothing Trump, Kavenaugh and other Republican's haven't been putting up with since before the election. Where were your news links then?

A Wohl/Avanati jail cell would just be the most amazing thing ever right now.

Jonah Goldberg tweet: Starting to think Wohl is a one-man false flag operation to make morons look bad.

After Donald Trump did a sit down interview with Alex Jones how can we legitimately scrutinize any meeting a candidate has with anyone?

This will be the biggest challenge the republicans will have this election cycle imo. There is basically nothing the right can criticize a dem candidate for doing that trump hasn't already done times 10.

Let me know when they all show up to sing Jones praise for all the phenomenal work he has been doing over the years.

First, Trump says a lot of stupid ****. He says nice things about everybody, even despots. It's his shtick.

Second, the entirety of the right hasn't formally gone about praising Jones, like they do Sharpton on the left.

Third, you know all of the above already.

Well that certainly explains Al Sharpton's strong showing in the 2004 Democratic Party presidential primary.

    LOL, you crack me up.

So we should give Trump a pass for meeting with/praising a Sandy Hook denier because he’s always saying idiotic stuff anyway, but should legitimately criticize Pete for meeting with Jackson because “the enirity of the left” like Jackson.

So if Pete said idiotic things all the time the Jackson meeting would be ok?
If more republicans liked Alex Jones then Trump’s comments would be an issue?

    That’s an.... interesting argument.

No, what I am saying is that Trump is not a proxy for all of conservatism.

The same argument can't really be made for Jackson, because nearly everybody that is anybody on the left has kissed the ring. For goodness sake he has/had a show on MSNBC for years. And yes, I do equate the two (Jackson/Jones).

TDS makes people come up with really strange arguments.

Probably just more working poor than ever struggling every month to pay rent and utilities for starters. The minimum wage is still $7.25 an hour in Oklahoma. It will be interesting to see if a petition comes out to vote on raising Oklahoma minimum wage.

And you know this how? I can agree with you to some extent because uneducated, inexperienced workers aren't going to earn much. Nevertheless, they aren't on welfare or unemployment compensation so it's a double benefit no matter how you look at it. Jobs aren't plentiful everywhere so, like me, people may have to move where the jobs are. Conversely, companies need to stop feeding their jobs to the same metro areas over and over again and let's make a more efficient job market.

So trump is not a proxy for all republicans but Jesse Jackson represents all democrats

    Makes sense.
