S Walker and 44th ST

I saw this morning the white boarded building,o n the east side of Walker North of 44th had been torn down.
It follows the demolition of the old garage on the SE corner of this intersection.

Does anybody know the future of these lots ?

It's been owned by the same Norman family for a while and there have been no building permit applications.

The white building you mention - the 3000 sq. ft. former Best Cleaners building at 4400 S Walker - is owned by 4400 South Walker Trust. The building was placed on the dilapidated structures list by the City Council in January of 2017, and was demolished by K&M Wrecking at the direction of the Development Services department of the City. The demolition permit does not specify a future proposed land use and no building permits are pending for the property.

The old garage building was actually two structures - the 2400 sq. ft. former Daryl's Appliance building at 424 SW 44th St, and the 2150 sq. ft. former Quick Automotive building at 428 SW 44th St. Both were on the same parcel of land owned by "TUCKER AMBER DIANE TRS", and were demolished by Midwest Wrecking at the direction of the property manager, LaGree Associates. The demolition permits do not specify a future proposed land use and no building permits are pending for the property. LaGree was originally marketing the land as "build to suit" but this property doesn't appear on their website anymore; something may be in the works for this corner but I can't find anything on it yet.

Now if the building with fake stone on SE corner of Walker and Grand blvd can go too that will be an upgrade.

there is dirt work, machinery and construction materials on the SE corner of walker and 44.
There is a building permit posted on the site as well. what could this be?

The building permit shows a 4,000 square foot, 4-bay, strip center. The comments indicated it is a shell building.
