Lee's Sandwiches has the best prices anywhere near downtown. You can get a bottle of water and a sandwich for under $5.

Just Some Clarification: it's just a 10% discount for all downtown employees on the 'Wellness" menu items and that promotion ends this Friday (5/3/2019).

Love Lee's sandwiches. I try and go about twice a week. Don't really consider it downtown though - I guess because once I bother to get in my car and drive out of the core, then just about anywhere is a consideration at that point.

Wife and I usually split a sandwich and some veggie rolls and it's only like $8.

Also, I've noticed if you stop in during the week before closing (Tue, Wed, Thurs) at 5pm, you can get the prepared meals sitting by the register for 50% off. I sometimes stop in on my way home and take a cheap dinner to go!

I also never realized that the Lee's style sandwich is such an 'acquired taste.' I know a lot of people who absolutely hate that style of sandwich. We personally love it.

It's so acquired that I actually prefer the pate sandwich to the other offerings. But yeah, they give you a healthy amount of veggies. It's good stuff.
