Re: General Weather Discussion - January 2019
Some preliminary information about this weekend's storm. Right now it looks like mostly a non-issue for the majority of Oklahoma. Cold air and strong winds will be on the menu.
We will see highs in the 60s Friday ahead of the storm with strong southerly winds. Friday night rain develops overhead and the cold air comes rushing in from the north. With the current track of the low, impacts will be mostly felt across MO/IA. It will take a dramatic shift in the track of the storm, in order for OK to have any sort of significant impacts. Here are some very early predictions of snowfall by a few models:

Re: General Weather Discussion - January 2019
Some spotty light rain this evening is already kicking up. Cold air and wind comes rushing in after dark. Any precipitation will turn over to dry, blowing snow. Little to no impacts expected from the snow. Perhaps a quick burst of accumulating snow across far E or NE OK. Otherwise Saturday will be basically miserably cold.

A look at the nation's wind chill temps as of 6 am Wed. from this unusually cold air mass. For Oklahoma, it came in as a backdoor front, so Oklahoma isn't getting the brunt of it. Already NNE winds have switched to the SE.

OK, so it's cold when you have to burn the train tracks!

How about the very Un Super Bowl like weather for the Super Bowl? I see some mid to upper 70's creeping in there on Sunday. Gonna love it! Wish it would stay around though.
