Without leaking too much, some very good talent will be annouced very soon. Personally looking forward to see what Coach Cooke can do with players that want to work with him.

Energy FC and the United Soccer League announced the schedule for the upcoming 2019 season today. The Greens will play 34 matches over 33 weeks in what will be the biggest year in the league’s history.

Energy FC begin the season on the road Saturday, March 9 at Southwest University Park in El Paso, Texas against expansion side El Paso Locomotive FC. The home opener, presented by Mercy Health, will be the following weekend on Saturday, March 16 at 7:30 p.m. at Taft Stadium against Las Vegas Lights FC. That day will begin and end with Green, as the club will once again host the annual St. Patrick’s Day Parade in downtown Oklahoma City that morning.

The first installment of the 2019 Black Gold Derby against in-state rivals Tulsa Roughnecks FC will take place on April 27 at ONEOK Field in Tulsa, Okla., while the return fixture will take place on August 3 at Taft Stadium.

Home matches for Energy FC will kick off at 7:30 p.m. from March through May. Start times will then move to 8 p.m. through August. The last three home matches, all on Sundays, will kick off at 6 p.m. In addition, the only midweek home match will be on July 17 against Reno 1868 FC.

With 18 teams in the USL’s Western Conference, each team will play a home-and-home series against all opponents.

The 2019 USL Playoffs will expand to include 10 teams from each conference, with the lowest four seeds in each conference opening postseason play in the Play-In Round. The single elimination format will then continue for the following four weekends in a fixed-bracket format with the higher seed in each matchup serving as host through the conference finals. The 2019 USL Cup will be held from November 14-18 and be held by the conference champion with the better regular season record.

Dumb to have the ABQ road game on a Wednesday Night, that's a trip I would have considered making if it was a weekend game. Even dumber to have the Tulsa road game on the same weekend as Norman Music Fest. The Austin road game on May 10th is tempting though.

a nice hack for ESPN+ is to find a cheap subscription deal for ESPN the magazine (which you can find for 20 bucks or less a year) and with the Mag subscription you get ESPN+ for free ..

    22.95 a year on https://www.amazon.com/ESPN/dp/B002BCCOFY

The supporters' groups chose the Brewers' Union for this one. They usually are at Skinny Slims or Buffalo Wild Wings every once in a while throughout the season.

Energy FC adds talent, experience for 2019 season

Oklahoman: Sunday, March 10, 2019 | by Ed Godfrey

If Energy FC looks like a new team this season, that’s because it essentially is.

Starting his second season on the job, Energy FC coach Steve Cooke retooled the roster in the offseason after the team finished 12-15-7 in the United Soccer League and missed the playoffs last year. Eleven new players were signed in the offseason, while 16 from last season are no longer with the team.

Add four players that were picked up during the 2018 and there are 15 players on this year’s opening day roster that were not with the club on opening day last year.

Cooke added several players with international experience, most notably Alexy Bosetti, who is arguably the Energy FC's biggest-ever signing. Bosetti played for Nice in France’s Ligue 1 as well as winning the U20 World Cup with the France national team.

“Alexy is an exciting player,” Cooke said when the signing was announced. “He can play many roles across the front four. He is someone who I think will not only create chances for us, but he’s going to put defenders under pressure. We’re expecting big things from Alexy this season.”

Other additions with significant international experience include Omar Gordon (Jamaica), Cordell Cato (Trinidad and Tobago) and Mekeil Williams (Trinidad and Tobago).

Rafael Garcia is a two-time MLS Cup winner with the LA Galaxy (teammates with David Beckham, Landon Donovan, Robbie Keane) and brings a great deal of experience to the midfield.

Energy FC opened the season on the road late Saturday with a match at El Paso. Energy FC won the game, 3-1. The 2018 preseason included a win over Phoenix Rising, the defending Western Conference champions.

Former Tampa Bay Rowdie and Jamaica native Deshorn Brown, a late-season pickup last year by Energy FC, scored seven goals in the seven preseason matches.

Energy FC opens its home schedule on Saturday at Taft Stadium against Las Vegas Lights. Game time is 7:30 p.m.

I love soccer, I am all in for a soccer stadium through MAPS4 but let s face it.
This team sucks and barely deserve to play on an empty parking lot behind Walmart.

Hard to justify public money for a stadium when you see their results.
