HuffPo conveniently leaves out the fact that Trump's '17 inauguration is on par with Obama's '13 event, but neither are comparable to the behemoth in '09.

Yeah, I heard bout it from the media, too, but OKC Guy has some other source. I'm just curious what that is.

I haven't seen or heard it on a regular news broadcast but l certainly may have missed it. 1000 jobs is great but its not going to jar the economy.

It's definitely a good thing, especially for those getting the jobs, no doubt, Of course, whether it's a macro level economic boost or not depends on the net effect on jobs, but it doesn't hurt for sure.

I'm not sure what a "regular news broadcast" really is these days anyway, but I doubt it covers 1000 job openings very often. I was just kind of having fun with the "Not a word from the media" drama from OKC Guy. But, you know, he could be on the board, so I figured I'd ask and then try and get some insider info if he is.

You can thank Obama for this one. Stringent US diesel emissions laws put forth by Obama epa is the reason why they defrauded the market and are facing federal indictments as we speak. They did not want to make cars for the American market so they hacked the fuel management system to sense the car was on a dyno tester and alter the fuel map to meet emissions

aren't the EU's diesel emissions laws way more strict? wouldn't that put the blame, more on them. or more on the company for just trying to find a way to circumvent laws??? i often call out Obama for things i think he is responsible for... but this is an extreme stretch.

No. US restrictions are more strict for passenger vehicles. As of 2014 they require the diesel emissions fluid tank to accommodate a 10,000 mile range before refill. The tank size required be Audi to sacrifice trunk or cabin space therefore, rather than redesign a US model they scammed the system.

Furthermore, US has significantly (25%) higher tax on diesel vs gas. Which is flip flopped in Europe, that, plus the ultra high mileage of small engine diesel, is why you see the proliferation of diesel consumer cars in EU. A lot of people are given the opposite idea when you see a 1 ton pickup spewing black smoke from the turbo Cummins. There’s a factor at work there: we don’t have emissions tests in most states where people drive those.

It's also the outcome anyone who looked at the O-care plan objectively would have predicted when O-care first came out because it has always been financially unsound. I know no one will, but when O-care was being voted on, I said multiple times on this site that O-care as is being presented financially is a fraud. The Congressional Budget office said it would be financially feasable but that was only when social security credits were added to it, which, of course cannot be done. Every year O-care goes on it will become more and more unaffordable, and was designed that way with the ultimate goal being a single provider plan. Of course, this is the outcome many on the left would like to see. This isn't Trump's fault, it's the way the plan was designed from the start.

Hafta laugh at your logic. So when rules are enacted it is acceptable to game the system because it is too hard to comply and or the profit margin would suffer if you complied?

I took this nitvat all that its OK to game the system. I took it as c a starement of fact about how it was done. l also took it as a statement that the Obama administration instituted very stringent rules that were so strict, they incinted the car company to try to game the system. This is like the US raising cigarette taxes so high, people go to Canada to buy them. Colorado is having a pot tax debate because illegal growers have said the tax is so high they do better growing it illegally the old fashioned way.

Hey bright boy, saying something would be desireable is just a weeee bit different than "trying." lve said several times, l would like to be 6-3, but I haven't laid down on the stretching rack.
