The proposed exterior looks a little generic, but regardless it will be good to see this building be put back into productive use again! I do hope they keep some of the look of the original storefront that fronts NE 6th St, though, especially if they highlight the stone engraved with the building name (what is the proper name for that anyway? Cornerstone?).

That's the datestone. Cornerstones are at the lower corner of a building.

Work has started.

Two modern duplexes + 1 single family directly to the east have been sold by a different developer.

I like it! Probably would like it more on a more modern structure, but this does fine for now! They'll definitely have to keep up with it.

I hope the blue is either primer or blue tape? Notice the front door on the latest picture - it looks a lot better being bluff colored than blue - hope all the doors wind up like that. Plus they replaced or redid the front sign which helps.

IIRC this use to be the home of Haywood C. Jackson Real Estate Office on N. E. 6th & Lottie; they occupied the lower level on the west side of the building next to the cafe.



There use to be a hill of pure red clay just above where the dumpster is positioned. An oil derrick operated by Champlin Refining Company (Enid, OK) towered above 1000 N. E. 6th Street north of Page-Woodson.

I am okay with the air ducts being visible, but pvc plumbing is just an eye sore. Especially with all of the traps and weird angles they took.

Desk lamp from the top of the kitchen cabinets is weird.

Otherwise pretty decent all things considered.

Though I don't know why you wouldn't try to make use of the street facing doors and windows.

Yeah... this one feels a bit like a swing and a miss. Few windows, exposed plumbing, weird fixtures...

It's certainly quirky, but not in a really cool way. The building doesn't seem all that historic, and they didn't exactly keep much of the historic elements anyway.

It is cool that they cleaned up the area and the property though. I just think they would have been better off with a new build.
