    Just didn't work out.

We (OKG/OKCT) are still pushing forward with our plans for video, just going a different direction.

Congratulations on the merge. It would be nice if the Gazette was made available in Stillwater. It used to be available at Eskimos Joe's but hasn't been for years.

Was flipping through the Gazette last night, and thought "Wonder if Pete will be able to make their Best of OKC truly a Best of OKC or if it will stay a popularity contest/most-ads-bought contest".

Just so you know, ad sales has nothing to do with it.

But, some changes will be coming for next year.

If there's any way you could break down the "Best Local Band/Artist" category into different genres, that would be amazing. The Gazette does a great job covering the OKC/Norman music scene, and I'd love to see more bands get recognition in Best of OKC. Either way, will continue to read all of the music features, and the live music listing is a great resource for finding out about shows I may have missed on Facebook.

Out of curiosity, is there any plan to move Gazette HQ to downtown?

Where is the current HQ? Is it still near Iron Star BBQ?

Yes, NW corner of 36th & Shartel.

I didn't buy that building and the owner wants to sell it, so we need to find a new home. It's a good thing and will tie into our whole 'new' and 'fresh restart' outlook.

I've been looking and have unearthed some interesting prospects. We want to do something different, not just slot into some office building.

Looked hard in the Paseo but there is nothing there for us. So, likely will be downtown somewhere but not the CBD.

I mean, Monarch is looking for a second anchor tenant, right? What could be more ideal than that?

I know that violates the "not just slot into some office building" though.

My second best recommendation off the top of my head would be the neglected building south of Aloft on Walnut. Bust out some windows on the south wall for a grand view of BT. Lunches in bricktown/DD (3 new restaurants about to open!). Still on the Rt 50 route to possibly get to the streetcar (though you can also just walk the short distance to it). Downside to this choice is you're probably not wanting a lot of up front reno cost. And I think they were wanting too much for that building, no? Oh, and Aloft probably won't make a deal with you for parking, though there are other close-ish options.

Next recommendation... Not sure how much space you need, but current building seems small... maybe the old Floral and Hardy spot at 13/Robinson? Not sure you'd fit though.

You could always see if Travis Watkins will let you be the upstairs tenant instead of making it residential.

Are all the buildings on Broadway Circle occupied?

    Just thinking out loud...

    The space above Packard's.

    Appreciate the ideas!

I think we've found a space but the deal isn't final so I need backup plans.

I'll share more on our new home when things get nailed down.

The Gazette previously had a home in Automobile Alley (if memory serves it was the building where Broadwine Wine and Spirits is now), and later in the Maney Mansion that is now The Grandison at Maney Park bed and breakfast. It definitely belongs in the inner city, and somewhere downtown would be great.

Just putting my two cents in on something I don't a lot about, but I love when media outlets (e.g., newspapers, magazines, radio) make their space interact with the street. I do like how you can walk up and see people recording podcasts or videos at the Oklahoman. It would be cool to even have days/times to encourage people to come interact with programs/events. Anyway, I'm not sure that's actually a good/profitable model or worth the effort, but I've always liked it.

I'm just sitting here wishing for print media to come back and for the 24-hr digital news cycle to die... but I was born to late for that ship.

Film Row is a cool area, though I guess construction currently has put a damper on it.

The Divine Providence room is the site of the Gazette's old conference room: https://www.grandisoninn.com/rooms_divine.htm

Looks like a nice place. I'd pick Florence's Room if I stayed there, though.
