Part of the south side of this building has glass all the way to the top.

I always thought the exterior was going to be white or light grey. Now im a little bit sad.

I was surprised when I walked by this on Saturday that the outer facing around the windows was brick. I did not expect that until I saw it in progress in person.

    Yes, it's beige brick:

I too am surprised. But if you look at the renderings again, some show a beige brick and others show a more white appearance.

I like the little bit of brick, gives whats otherwise is a glass box a little bit of warmth and texture.

I like it as well, it makes it stand out a bit from what you might think is just another glass and steel box. Maybe there's a specific style they are going for that I am unaware of, but it feels fairly unique to me.

The color is bland & looks like something from the 60's. They should of went with a more modern color like the renderings they provided. Maybe that is just a primer & it will be painted?

I would be surprised if they go through the expense of using brick just to paint it.

I was walking by here a few weeks back when they started to put the bricks up. Was surprised as I hadn't expected that from the renderings. Then I looked at the large renderings printed on the construction fencing. Sure enough, that light brick was there in the detail. Just never saw it from the computer screen.

    My thought exactly

Every white building turns pink eventually with all the red dirt in the air. Beige just keeps being beige.

I know some people hate the beige brick, but I really love the look of this building. One of my favorite projects at the moment.

I agree that the look is great.... even better in person than in a photograph. Nice contrast of contemporary clean design with traditional brick element. It will age beautifully and not be dated.

Beige brick is great as an accent. As with so many materials, the 70's and 80's did it wrong.

I love the mix of old/new here. The windows kind of mimic the old square pane windows on old factories, just expanded ten times the normal size.

What happened to the larger windowed areas with the lit up symbols?

Those were ditched somewhere along the way.

This is the final approved design:
