No worries. Just wondering how you came to make that point after reading it, cause that was totally not where I would have gone.

In other news...from a HuffPo writer:

I know, it is completely shocking to me that ANYONE, black or white, would put stickers on a BMW.

Ha. Yeah, I totally hi-jacked it for my own amusement. Sorry about that...

While I would love to believe alternet...

    The actual headline...

Man who hurled soda, took teen's MAGA hat might have heard 'hanging blacks' remarks, witness says

Eavesdropping all around. Kids might have said something incendiary, but no one is providing context. All that is certain is the guy making the scene was acting like he shouldn't have.

Also confusing that the "source" says they are getting death threats for saying these things, yet this is the first I've seen anything mentioned about it, and they were anonymously sourced.

So the guy who stole the hat got arrested. One would think if the kids were yelling those horrible things (the link Travelers posted from alternet) the man would give an interview to tell his side of the story.

What is alternet anyways? is that a viable news source?

It can be, but they actually just reposted a story by a local news station, so it was not a story *by* them, they're mainly an aggregator.

If the man got arrested and he secured counsel, which hopefully he did, because he is entitled to that, the first thing they would have told him is to not speak about the case. So, his lack on giving an interview doesn’t mean **** one way or the other.

And, really, if the charge is for stealing the hat, and he stole it, then he should be charged with it. It’s a dumb move, but if there were mitigating circumstances a jury will hear them in sworn testimony.

Either way, it’s a stupid story for stupid news lovers. It’s freaking Whataburger, afterall. If we’re now using what happened at Whataburger over a hat as a barometer for American politics, we’re ****ed either way and we really have become an Idiocracy.

And here’s the actual news report about the dumbassery that took place at a Whataburger one night. As is usually the case, sounds like some reasonable people were involved, but the cameras started rolling after they left:

BPD, this is essentially a rehash of the Dallas News story. Essentially it is a he said/she said affair. Sadly, everyone outcome seems likely at this point because there are plenty of dicks out there that flip at the site of a MAGA hat, and there are plenty of people that are trying to make examples out of those previously mentioned. It's stupid all around, and basically a waste of time to even care about what happened at some Whataburger at 2 AM. Not sure that anything good really happens at 2 AM in a Whataburger.

The NYPost is a crap newspaper and a constant source of actual fake news.

There is not a Dem one being mentioned as a possible candidate for 2020 that is not a more sane choice than the current occupant of 1600. Nor is there one anywhere near as corrupt. Currently the GOP is a party practicing a cult of personality. It will be interesting to see if Ben Sasse returns ethics, respect for the intelligence community and LE in general, as core values of the GOP, not to mention a return to standing by our allies and a repudiation of the embrace of tyrants.

I see, so because the NYPost is allegedly rated as bias-conservative by this organization, they are a constant source of fake news and a crap newspaper. They provide only one example of a headline to support their findings. A quick search of this site find multiple retorts and allegations that the fact-check site itself is biased and has been caught using Wikileaks "fact" as it's own.

All you are doing is calling a publication crap because it reports things you don't like to see. CNN, ABC, NY Times, NBC (and extention cable outlets), ABC and others have all been caught reporting unsubstantiated leftward-biased information. They are all biased, one way or the other - some more obvious than others.
Really, I don't know the NY Post from The New Orleans Picayune, but your post is just silly.

You don’t know the most famous tabloid newspaper in the United States? It’s the US equivalent of the Daily Mail or Sun. The one that’s also owned by Rupert Murdoch and is part of his pro-Trump news empire?

    Your post is silly.

So is the Wall Street Journal. Ownership means nothing, except to use as a scary guy.

You judge a publication based on content, not who it's owner is. There really are no media outlets, anymore, with steller bias records. There have been so many cases across the board, of unsubstantiated "facts," "news," " and reports with anonymous sources - even from the beloved NY Times, then all media is becoming trash. You tried to demean a publication using data from another that has multiple accusations of bias itself (do a simple Google search) and was caught using Wikipedia data in its own statistical analysis.

As for the publication, I am familiar enough with it to know it's written in shorter , quick-hit tabloid articles and not so much in deep-dive research articles. Nothing wrong with that. I'm sure, like all media, they've reported things that later turned out wrong or you simply disagree with. This just looks like you are calling a publication trash and dismissing all info you disagree with as trash simply because you don't like lt, not based on quality evidence.

I can't access this, due to a paywall. Any chance of a summation (don't copy and paste because they own their content, please)?

Briefly, it amounts to a collective letter from 80 of his former/current law students @ Harvard discussing how fair, even and open minded Kavanaugh is.
