Thread: What's Being Built at SW 134th & May?

South OKC What's Being Built at SW 134th & May?

A large area on the SW corner of 134th and May has been fenced off with a privacy screen, which seems a little odd. There is obviously a larger building being built there. Any info on what it will be?

This is purely speculation on my part, but I believe they are saturating the area in a move to squeeze out Crest at 104th and May. THey're building a full WalMart at SW 104th and I-44, and they're building the new Neighborhood Market at SW 134th and May, and they had previously targeted the property at 104th and May for the site about to open along I-44. That's the only thing to me that makes sense. They've built all these new small stores, but there aren't any new customers in those areas - the objective has to be to take existing customers away from others stores, and Crest is the 800 lb gorilla in the region.

It would be nice to see mass protest of Walmart. They have killed so many mom & pop and bigger retailers all over the country. It's a shame.

I've actually been enjoying the new neighborhood market on Santa Fe , it's small yet feels big.. And has a good selection, minus a butcher shop, and they have the online ordering and pickup which at first I thought was point
Es, but once you do it a few times it's a huge money saver , because you're not impulse buying thing you don't need. I still go over to crest or homeland for my meat. Unless I just need some ground beef or something like that... Crest is a pain in the arse it's way too big , it's tough to get out of there with out spending $400 a trip, doing the online thing we're spending half that.
