Well, it's not like he can reply "I'll have an update as soon as I can read about it on OKCTALK".
He doesn't know how to go get information (and/or is too lazy to do so), he merely waits until someone with whom he's cultivated a friendly relationship feeds him something they want in the press, which he then publishes without question or context. Or, he sits on our social media feeds and then tries to replicate something we break (without providing customary credit), then puts it behind a paywall. He also routinely plagiarizes press releases, which I've documented many times.
We answer every single question here -- I go to great trouble to hunt down info on even the smallest projects -- and of course usually are first with anything truly new.

Will Strawberry Fields break ground this year?Do you know the timetable for that?
Steve Lackmeyer replied:
There is ongoing work and planning. Is it possible we might see work begin later this year on one of the proposed projects? Maybe. I'm still hoping to do an update soon.
It's always "update soon".
It would be nice to see some private development around the park.
Global firm to help develop offices, housing, retail west of Oklahoma City's Scissortail Park
A global real estate firm is joining up with local investors hoping to build a mix of housing, offices, restaurants and retail on dozens of blighted blocks west of Scissortail Park.
Chicago-based JLL has offices in 80 countries and in addition to design and development, the firm also represents institutional and retail investors and high income clients.
Michael Swaldi, senior managing director of Jll's land practice group, said the firm will help envision, build and finance Strawberry Fields and "where applicable" sell individual parcels of Strawberry Fields to other developers.

Hooray!
Hopefully this project will start to move forward.

Heyyy, I can see our vendor tent from here.
I didn't realize how much of a chunk the Cusack's meats "parking" across the street from their building took out of the lower park until this pic...
I sent them an email about the current status. Their website seems to be fairly updated and they added some new details about specific uses of the "Marketplace" building proposal which will be a renovated building. I really hope this project(s) can gain some steam.

It perfect timing if they start now. In a year or two the conferences bill be in full swing, and the lower park to the river will be open.
Regarding Cusack's. I hope that they will one day sell that land and it will be developed or the city will build a lower sissortail playground in that area that will anchor the lower park. I hope I live long enough to see it happen.
So they're just clearing the land to have barren (strawberry) fields?
(would kind of prefer they use the money they're spending to demolish properties to get some kind of project going on an already cleared bit of land)
