The first earthquake I experienced was the first big one we had in Oklahoma several years ago and I heard what sounded like an explosion before that one hit. I was on the SW side of OKC at the time. I felt one here at home in NW OKC about a year ago that was an East-to-West wave. It was very strange to feel a directional earthquake. My wife said she felt one last night but I haven't seen anything online about it.
Thx for that, interesting to read all the details and how quickly they're doing it, and about damn time they did something fairly responsible, it's a shame it took them so long. I found this part kind of funny - pretty big journey from "Ain't us, noway, nohow, no evidence, can't blame us" to finally admit there's "very close correlation"...
"The seismic events that occurred during the week of January 4th, 2016, in the
Fairview area appear to have a very close correlation to the storms that created
power outages in such area. It is believed that the power outage may have
created a situation where a number of producing wells were shut in, and then
simultaneously came back on line. When the wells began producing again, this
apparently resulted in a tremendous volume of produced water being disposed
into the Arbuckle formation at the same time. The OGCD recommends that in the
future when a power outage of this magnitude occurs, the production volumes be
staged or phased in over a period of time."
Pretty sure I felt the one earlier...I had headphones in and felt some shaking. By the time I took them out it had stopped.
I thought I felt one around midnight.. It was a pretty quick jolt.
Yep, I noted a very quick shock at 11:51 p.m. last night.

Stillwater earthquake at around 3pm, 3/29. It made my French doors or whatever it was rattle. First time I sensed one in several weeks.
It was just a magnitude 2.5, centered 3 mi. ESE of Stillwater, in or near an area of oil field activity. The magnitude may be low but they tend to make a definite impression when that nearby. This is from an old hot spot that may be trying to come back to life. One past earthquake from that area a year or two ago was blamed on toppling a kennel wall on a woman at the Stillwater Humane Society. She was not seriously hurt.
We just felt that one! broke an antique picture frame
Felt that one here downtown...
Shook longer than any of the previous quakes I've felt.
Yeah, pretty strong up in Edmond too. One of if not the strongest I've felt.
Pretty strong at my place near Overholser!
News just said 4.0 near Luther.
Reports it was 4.0 near Luther.
Relaxing in Mustang, felt a sudden boom and wondered if it were an earthquake or if a truck hit the house. Checked the living room, no truck.
4th and strongest one near Luther today. 3.4, 2.7, 3.1, and then the 4.0, the only one I noticed. Plus 2 near Perry and 2 near Helena today also.
Felt just a low rumble in west Edmond. Wasn't sure if it even was a quake.
