18 Signs You've Spent Too Much Time In Texas
#1 has crossed into Oklahoma I think... and I slip into #6 quite often.
#14... well, of course.
#10 is incorrect... No one is standing in line at a Texas Q-raunt, especially Franklin's, for ribs...... well ok maybe Franklin's on a Saturday for beef ribs since they didn't specify... but that would be the only day.
Being from Texas I get a kick out of some of these, but holy crap, they sell Whataburger ketchup in bottles? No way!
I also use the term "y'all" in reference to singular people sometimes. Drives my wife nuts.
Cowboy boots are official "every day" footwear, not just Friday nights
And Shiner Bock, if you're from that area especially, is just what you grow up on. (sidenote: kudos to their new marketing campaign, i love it)
I have Whataburger ketchup in bottles. Both regular and spicy.
I do love me some boots .
Although I lived in Texas for years, I didn't start wearing them until I was in Oklahoma.
Some of these are great. But, I think it's more of Southwest culture than anything, just my opinion.
Breakfast tacos/burritos are fine in my book any day of the week.
Queso before meals is totally acceptable with my family.
Y'all has been labeled an "Okie" word many times before, perhaps not just purely a Texan thing.
Cowboy boots are perfectly fine any day of the week around here. It's a Western thing, an Okie thing, A Texan thing, etc.
And number 14... Oh yea...
And as a disclaimer, since some folks think every post is a fightin' post, I'm not meaning to start a debate or argument. They all apply however we see fit, just saying that we all have more in common with Texas/Southwest culture or vice versa than perhaps some believe. Just my personal thoughts is all.
Thought it was a funny and entertaining article, thanks for posting.
Agreed... Breakfast tacos are a well balanced nutritious start to any day. The topic title needs to be changed to "18 reasons why you should spend more time in Tejas".
I've never forgiven my wife for being born in Texas.
Probably... a native Okie and Native Texan in the same house... truly a house divided. At least we're both OSU fans.
I see a lot of cultural bleed over on those items. But Holy Moly those doughnuts!!!
Killer bees, fire ants and flying roaches. Three things Texas can keep
I seriously love #5. Buc-ee's restrooms are unreal. Massive, clean, and stall after stall of absolute privacy. Never been in there when it was even slightly dirty.
