    Default Pointe Vista

This was what seemed like a super cool development on Lake Texoma but hasn't gotten anywhere.

Yeah, it's also shamed they didn't do it at a better lake, say Eufuala.

Yeah. I don't know much about Texoma or Eufuala, but I've heard they're both beautiful lakes. Oklahoma needs more resort or getaway towns, imo.

I've been to both over the years and IMO Texoma doesn't hold a candle to Eufaula. Texoma, to me is overpriced and isn't near as good of a lake. I think the big reason for development is because they want to get the Texan's money, because it seems like that's all that's at the lake are the big buyers from Dallas. I've just never been a fan.

The rock bottom lakes in NE and SE Oklahoma are much nicer than Texoma and Eufaula, IMO. They just don't have sand beaches but the water quality is much better. Eufaula by the dam can be okay but the rest is always muddy especially in the summer. Tenkiller and Broken Bow are absolutely gorgeous and are still pretty undeveloped. Grand is the most developed lake in the state and its water quality isn't what it used to be but is still really nice. Skiatook by Tulsa is smaller but has good water quality and lots of hills around it reminds me a lot of the Hill Country lakes in Texas.

Hands down Broken Bow is the best lake in the state. There is a lot more development there than there was even 5 years ago.

    Velocity Article about the groundbreaking:

Pointe Vista lots are for sale on Lake Texoma shoreline
Pointe Vista, a 2,700-acre premier community along the Lake Texoma shoreline, broke ground on their first development. Bridge Pointe includes 58 town home and condo residences with lakefront and hilltop options.

Reflection Pointe, another area of the development, is scheduled to break ground later this year. It offers 84 single family lots with lakefront, lake view and golf course options.

Over 11 phases of development are mapped out for the area over the coming years.

“We are committed to investing in this community and making Lake Texoma a top attraction in the region,” said Grant Speakes, Chief Operating Officer at Pointe Vista. “At completion, Pointe Vista will be a robust tourist attraction with a resort hotel and convention center, casino, a variety of restaurants, entertainment venues, waterfront housing and a 900-slip marina.”

The residential community will offer gated security, a clubhouse, pool, fitness center, cleaning service, lawn maintenance and access to boat docks – with over 2,100 homes at completion.

Bridge Pointe town homes and condos are now for sale, starting as low as $399,000. To learn more about Pointe Vista at Lake Texoma, or to inquire about available lots, visit https://www.pointevista.com.

PS, on that website there are scores of news articles about the project. This is pretty big deal for the region at for Oklahoma's part and I'd say we should build an E-W freeway connection from Durant to I-35.

Today I was driving through Kingston on my way to Durant and they are starting dirt work on the Pointe Vista on Lake Texoma just before you enter the bridge for the lake. On the North side of I70 there's a billboard with what looks like a rendering of a neighborhood. texoma.jpg

Awesome! Oklahoma is really starting to take off with this, NE OK, and Medicine Park. If only Lawton could get it’s actually together and get some small momentum going.

The guys who own this, Chickasaw Point and everything around there are finally really getting going on this. Doesn’t hurt that they just sold Dippin dots for $220 million after buying it for $12 back in 2009 but even before that they were gearing up to pick up the pace here. Going to be a great development. Casino will be going in nearby as well.

The only dirt moving is in the area of the new Chickasaw casino.

That’s what I’d heard as well. They just hired several people to manage the project though (which is one of the most aggressive moves I’ve seen them make since purchasing it) so I’d be surprised if things don’t start moving within the next 6 months to a year, just not sure where the starting point will be now. I’ll see what I can find out next time I’m up there.

Side note, I played the course last fall and it’s in great shape. Really pretty and fun layout if anyone finds themselves down that direction and wants to play a round.

Has anyone heard any updates on this project? It looks like they are starting to build houses in the Reflection Pointe area, curious if/when the hotel and lagoon are actually going to start construction...

So no new casino then? Glad it won't be built with one as the focal point.

The Chickasaw’s already have a casino in the middle of the development. I would imagine that Hard Rock will end up with some kind of partnership with the casino at minimum.

Wonder if they will rebrand the casino as a Hard Rock. I feel like their casino brand is stronger now than even the cafe, but that may just be my inclination because they don't have one around here.

The whole south border of Oklahoma is nothing but Texas tourism at this point.
