Is Memphis Making (Another) Massive Mistake With Its Pyramid?

A giant Bass Pro Shops outlet is set to move into the infamous landmark. But the city could be on the hook for millions if the deal falls apart.

Here's a story about how Memphis is paying Bass Pro Shops to repurpose its Pyramid Arena converting it to a giant Bass Pro Shops & what the author thinks about Bass Pro Shops & Cabela's extorting taxpayers for locating their retail stores in their cities.

Why we give away millions to these companies when we already have Academy Sports + Outdoors, Dick's Sporting Goods, Walmart, Target & a lot of locally owned sporting goods stores that we likely don't have to subsidize?

Note: I spend some of my sporting goods money at Bass Pro in Bricktown, but I could just as easily spend that same money at the Northwest Highway & 63rd Academy Sports store or one of the sporting goods stores at Penn Square Mall, the Belle Isle Walmart or the Northwest Highway & May Target store, all which are much closer to my home.
