    I was watching this:
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=OuCiB-2Wreg , where Kramer finds himself driving the back of a hook-and-ladder, and was wondering if we had any in town (certainly I don't expect the anachronistic open cab which was dramatic license I'm sure). I've never seen them to my memory.

I don't believe Okc has any hook & ladders, nor do any of the metro area departments. You usually see them in larger cities. I used to see them around the Chicago area years ago.

I'm a retired Edmond Firefighter. As far as Ladder trucks or as we call them truck companies, no we don't have tillered apparatus. The reason for tillers is to be able to navigate tight /narrow streets. The OKC metro is layed out with lots of wide streets and open areas. Up north and back east land has always been a premium so they built buidings on small lots and tight streets. There was a long time ago some tillered apparatus. None of any recent or in my time. No need for tillered equipment in OKC.

After looking on another list (fire apparatus) the last tiller ladder was one in Tulsa in 1974. The say it'll long gone.

There's an old OKCFD tiller truck at the Oklahoma State Firefighters Museum.
