I know of two restaurants they are very close to signing leases for that building, and people will be excited about them.

Not sure about the remainder but once this first spec building is underway, I think the ball will really get rolling.

Are they currently in the market?

I'm guessing the health club is a gym? It seems likely LA Fitness is going to go there. A Bally's would be cool also.

Will that grocery store have an entrance on the south side of the building? ...otherwise it'll look weird having a big blank wall/building facing that interior street with the "main street" concept it appears they're trying to go for.

I don't see why it wouldn't. Other developments I've seen like this that include grocery stores all have dual entrances, one to the main street and the other to the parking lot.

    Bally's? This isn't 1987

If the layout is anything of a tease, it's a Lifetime Fitness, which would be amazeballs. Only sucks that it's not closer to my house if true.

Pete, the latest renderings have a "Public Market" on the north side of the development. Is this like a farmer's market?

My guess is Lifetime or LA Fitness.

I always found it strange that Bally's owned and used their brand for both fitness centers and mall arcades, as well as the casino in Vegas.

It would be great if we could get an IKEA in that 7.87 acres next to TopGolf, even though that would likely be at least 5-6 years down the road. Regardless this is a great addition to Oklahoma City and should put an end to any debate about Tulsa getting things first.

Agreed. The design of this shopping center is a step above anything in Tulsa. Will be very interested to see the first round of tenants announced.

Hopefully an IKEA does end up in this area though I believe the Chisholm Creek developers are trying to shy away from big box beyond Cabela's. The general area would be perfect for it though. Maybe on the other side of Western across from the healthplex?

For some reason, I just don't see Ikea as a good fit for Chisholm Creek. I would like them to locate right across Western though.

OKC could definitely support an IKEA. There's no doubt in my mind. I think it would be a perfect fit for ChCr.

In their current state, I have a hard time believing IKEA will come here, especially with two stores within a five hour drive. There are several metros much larger than OKC that have yet to build one; don't quote me, but I think they like to have at least 2 million within a 60 mile radius of a store.

If the Memphis store succeeds, they could start looking at smaller stores in smaller metros.

IKEA needs way, way more land than 8 acres. I dont see that there is space for one at Chisholm and obviously doesnt appear to be any interest from IKEA.

Actually, IKEA has stores as small as 3000-4000 sq ft. If anyone has ever traveled to Puerto Rico, cities like San Juan have IKEA stores that are the size of say Williams-Sonoma inside Penn Square. The store I went to was in a town called Ponce, which has a population of about 200,000, maybe 350,000 within a 30 mile radius. Whatever they didn't have in the store, you could order from their in-store catalog with no shipping cost. But you won't find those stores listed on their website.

Thats not to say that's the size of store they would want to build, I'm sure if they came to Oklahoma they would want to build a larger store and maybe the 7.87 acres is too small for what they would want to build here. Point I'm trying to make is they have smaller stores across the world. Everything they build is not 100,000 sq ft in cities with 2-3 million population.

Oklahoma has almost 4 million people living here, you have to think that this store would draw from the Texas panhandle, southern Kansas, western Arkansas and SW Missouri. Maybe and this is probably a stretch, but they could even pull from New Mexico.

    Texas Panhandle Population - 427,927
Southern Kansas Population (Wichita Area included) - 600,000+
    Eastern Arkansas Population - 350,000+

So within 4 hour radius, not including the Dallas area, you are drawing from probably over 6 million people.

This will truly be amazing if it all comes together. 60 restaurants and bars (along with other retail) in that location seems incredibly dense (which can be a good thing), hopefully all that go in there can survive, more power to them...

I wonder if that "health club" is familiar with the attempt at one that was across the way that is now that big church?

Ohh wow. I didn't know there was a creek bed they had to work around. They got all the road work done incredibly fast.

If Chisholm Creek is successful and built as envisioned, I see this possible future health club being a lot more successful. The health club that was on Memorial was built in a bad location on a one way street. The area around the intersection of Western and Memorial north of the turnpike is kind of rundown and stagnant. I'm hoping with Oncue, Main Event and the Chisholm Creek going in, we see those two corners redeveloped. The two shopping strips on the corners, out of business gas station, and current gas station need to be demolished.
