LOL that's true. But my modest knowledge of protecting/preserving historic brick comes from Main Street/NTHP training. The National Trust has TONS of free resources on topics like this, but unfortunately lots of owners/developers/architects/contractors soldier on without referring to a knowledge base developed through generations of experience. The law of unintended consequences claims the future of a historic building somewhere every day.
Finally getting their new signage on this building.
As far as I know, the space at the far east end and the upstairs section are still available.
This is from Trade:
I like the awnings over Trade Menswear.
Nice! Shopping just gets better and better in AA and Midtown. I love that it's all local.
Yes, and Rachael the owner of this new store is an absolute firecracker.
We have a great group of young retail entrepreneurs in the core. In many ways more exciting than the chains everybody seems to want so badly.
Black Sheep is opening soon:
Good to see our old conference room getting new life...
Although their official grand opening isn't until Saturday, The Black Sheep opened it's doors today.
I bet this store does very well. The owner and proprietor is a firecracker and has lots of great ideas.
I saw a tweet today that reminded me of something I wanted to ask here, has anyone actually purchased anything from Trade? I've been in multiple times and follow their twitter where they regularly tweet about merchandise, and I just can't understand how everything is so expensive. I'm not usually a cheap person, I just can't see how anyone can justify one short sleeve cotton/linen blend button down for $200.
Love the Black Sheep logo! I'll have to check out the store now.
This building is in the process of being painted.
What looks like red brick was actually just paint.
I bought some Christmas Presents in The Black Scintilla store this past Sunday they were in the Pop Up shops midtown they suggested a visit to their Brick and Mortar Store. I was glad I did take them up on their suggestion. They have very reasonable prices for a boutique and the staff is super friendly. I recommend this local business.
Brown Interiors has opened in the space that had been the temporary home of Commonplace Books:
