Are you wanting to incur ljbab' wrath for posting the same basic story twice?

Does anyone else feel like there is in inherently wrong situation when a geological group uses a rig as a logo and accepts funding by energy companies? For all the correlations between fracing and the earthquakes and the continued denial by anyone in the industry, it just seems a bit of a conflict.

is the society of geologists primarily made up of people working in the O&G industry? It's not a non-partisan group that does independent studies or anything, to me viewing on the surface it's like a fraternal organization of people working in the field.

Yesterday I noticed a lot of overgrown weeds in front of this facility, as well as a construction sign. From what I could across the street, the inside looked a bit sparse. Is the geological society even still there?

It was sold to a local group that is planning to redo the interior.

Not sure if they already have a tenant.
