Jusr FYI for next time you try this, keep in mind that the moon is an "object in bright sunlight" and set the exposure accordingly. Of course that probably would not let Mars appear in the shot at all...

    Nice shot silvergrove^^
Thanks! I've been trying my hand at astrophotography recently. Took this on a trip to Bryce Canyon to celebrate finishing my studies. The image quality isn't super good since I'm using a micro 4/3 camera but I was pleased.

That is awesome. I want to see a sky like that some time before I die. LOL

Don't forget about the partial solar eclipse which will be peaking here in about an hour or so.

Some images of the partial solar eclipse I took earlier at Lake Hefner!

Also, if anyone has welding glass (rated 14 at least), you can look at the sun with the glass and see one of the biggest sunspots ever.

Did anyone else catch this tonight? We had very clear skies and it was spectacular. The last time this happened was 33 years ago and I probably won't be around when it happens again.

Hello, ljbab728! My husband and I watched the entire eclipse last night.

You are right. It was a really neat thing to watch. We had a perfect site from with to watch it and the view was great. Like you, we both wonder if we will be around for the next one with the super moon and blood moon in 2033, so we didn't want to miss any of it. It was well worth the time spent.
