Thread: Bridge repair on SW 34th

Default Bridge repair on SW 34th

Any idea how long it will take to repair the bridge on SW 34th between Sante Fe & Telephone? Going around adds a school zone and 7 stoplights for me to get to I-35.

Do you mean Indian Hills Road? I don't think there is a bridge on 34th.

20 - 25 years ago when 34th was a dirt road, people were getting their vehicles stuck down there (near the bridge) on a regular basis. They would then walk North about ¼ mile through what was then a cow pasture to my house for help. Heard a lady screaming from down there once from my back yard. She had 3 little kids in her car which was buried up to the axles in mud. Took the fire department to get her and the kiddos out of that mess.

^ha, I remember that being dirt. It was always tracked with deep muddy ruts after a good rain.

Drove by there this morning and it looks like they are doing some final grading along the sides of the new bridge. Hopefully that means it may be open again in a few days!

It is open....I drove it several times last night. All of the signs are down.
