Yeah, that is weird seeing as how it was said to have had winds of nearing 300mph. . . if that is true, and the scale of the tornado, I will still consider it an EF5

I knoooooooow, it is just so weird calling it an EF3 considering how big it is. I don't know why I think like that, but that is just what my brain wants to think lol

We have a fairly ugly winter every few years. It's been a few years since we had one.
    Just sayin'.

    Call me crazy but....

I'll believe Al Gore the day a 100 foot wide tornado is labeled an EF5...

I thought it was the widest tornado ever recorded. 2.5 miles wide, or something like that.

Just cause it was wide doesn't mean it's going to be a beast on the EF scale.

Think back to 5/3/99. That Moore tornado was smaller than the one this year and had recorded (can't remember if by doppler or actual) winds of 317mph.

Those were measured winds in the radar, but I think those even got revised down some as well as they went through the data more. You'll be lucky to get any actual wind measure in a tornado that high simple due to flying debris likely destroying the device before hand.

We are lucky it didn't wipe out Yukon. I'll take the downgrade.
