"Dell to add 300 jobs in OKC

Dell Inc. will add at least 300 more employees to its Oklahoma City facility, boosting its local employment to 1,000 workers, the company said today.
Construction of its second 120,000-square-foot building has begun, and should be complete early next year. Dell’s first building along the Oklahoma River will open later this summer.

Since September, Dell has operated out of the Hertz Financial Center near NW 63 and Northwest Expressway while building a new center near SW 15 and Portland Ave.

“The quality of the area workforce made the decision to expand our operation an easy one,” said Karen Quintos, vice president and general manager of Dell Americas Contact Centers. “We have exceeded our performance expectations here for our customers since taking our first call on Sept. 7 last year.”

A year ago, Dell announced plans to hire up to 500 workers at a new Oklahoma City customer sales center. Late last year, the company increased its projected local workforce to 700.

The need for new employees is driven by additional lines of business, including public sector and corporate accounts, and an addition of Dell services technicians and managers who provide technical resolutions to server and storage customers.

Those seeking employment can find information at www.workforceok.org."

Has anyone drove by and seen the new building? They have a huge Dell sign hanging on it... can't miss it.

Feel free to look in my photo gallery. I have several pictures of the building in various stages of construction, ending (so far) with July 4.
