According to Google: Cesar "Viva La Raza" Chavez is (would be) 86 today!
Thinkin' back t' my way younger days, on the extreme downstream end of the grape pickin' commercial monolith at the time, I seem to recall a tiny bunch/hoard/bevy of protestors with picket signs attempting to annoy patrons of what used to be sort-of-a primitive protoSam's Club beverage purveyor in my old hometown on account of they were sellin' [unapproved?] wine made from "Non-Union Grapes".
My personal, mental, "mantraesque" musings on the related topics of fairness/etc. (at that moment in time, in a galaxy far, far, away) to the outlandish event in question were interrupted when a soon to be locally famous comedian blurted out: "HEY! If you "picket" it won't heal."
Forty-plus years later, I have learned to appreciate what Mr. Chavez apparently stood for.
(decency, fairness, consideration)
I think it is kind of cool that his birthday lines up with "Easter" this year. =)
