Well, I didn't get too much out of that article, but hopefully it works out for them. I love to see other Oklahoma Towns and Cities grow. Now, if we get Guthrie to hop on board with a major overhaul, we will really be getting somewhere.

The majority of ticket owners likely already live outside of Stillwater and will in the future. From what I had heard the drop in ticket sales is more due to doing a quick shift up in price verses spreading out changes gradually over several years.

Unlike some other Oklahoma cities it can assure industrial prospects there is a reliable source of water even during severe droughts.

A plan based on growth that is designed to generate growth. How can that fail? I wonder what a plan would look like if it anticipated zero population growth (if the people who live in Stillwater now could fund local government and any new comers would fully pay the added cost of them living there). That would be a plan worth developing.

It may already be close to 61,000, if a high percentage of OSU students did not claim Stillwater as their place of residence in the 2010 census form, assuming they bothered filling them out.

Maybe some retiring OSU alumni want to move to Stillwater to attend sports.

You're absolutely right. Guthrie needs to get rid of all of those old, run down buildings in their downtown and put up some nice strip malls with big parking lots. LOL

I know you're being sarcastic, but, I love Guthrie's downtown! I think the rest of the city is just slum. The streets are also horrible. The city council doesn't seem to like growth. I think it could be a much better city than what it is now. The buildings in downtown are becoming run down, but the are magnificent buildings that need some tlc. Guthrie's downtown is awesome man!!!!

I dont see growth in Guthrie its just like El Reno, but worse. Yukon/Mustang takes away El Reno's growth and Edmond does the same to Guthrie.

I am only a few pages into the Plan but so far so good. Stillwater might be onto something here - if they can actually execute what they say they want to do.

And with the cost of gas so high, why not pick the nearer suburb to live in?
