In case nobody has mentioned it, the red ribbons on the massive pine cones in the Devon rotunda (last picture) are made...of glass. And photos don't really do the scale or the appearance of them justice. You really need to come see them (and the other Devon decorations) in person if you can.
To Pete (and all of the others) who made that photographic display of EXCELLENCE on every level and in every sense of that term possible: THANK YOU!!!
(i almost used the term "awesome" . . . especially regarding the Devon Tower with the shades of blue)
Again: thank you.
These are terrific and I echo the suggestion that you go see the Devon decorations in person. Pete, your house is just lovely and so festive! Thanks, guys.
My wife and I took our Grandsons downtown, myriad gardens-bricktown and all over last night. Could not have asked for better weather, cool and windless. I need to carry a better camera because my "smart" phone doesn't do well at night. Beautiful lights, displays and folks seemed to be well behaved last night. I think the best pic I got was my 5 year old Grandson passed out face down in his sonic sack 5 minutes after we gott back to the car.
I love opening this thread!
If you're out that way, Yukon has a nice display in Chisholm Trail park - Christmas in the Park. Be prepared for traffic though.
I have pics, but they are still on my camera. I'll post up a few when I get a chance.
We're planning on going by Cheasapeake this weekend and we might swing by downtown too.
