Good, it's about time some Indian tribe took over that race track. Now hopefully there will be a full blown casino built in that area of town.

Yeah, the Chickasaws are really into tourism.

I could definitely see them building a hotel to top the Cherokees Hard Rock Hotel.

We need the tribes to be more competitive like Tulsa and OKC. They could compete to see who has the best and coolest casinos.

They could build a theme hotel with views of the race track and the zoo. They could attract Cirque de Soleil and an insane restaurant!

I'm guessing we will see something pretty soon to rival Tulsa's HR casino!

the commentary on all of this today was that it will probably close late November for 80 million... and that the subsidiary will plan to spend 12 million over the next four years..... Lets hope that it will be far greater than what has been mentioned....

I think the Chickasaw own the WinStar World Casinos and thats like the 5th largest casino in the world...

It also has to be the ugliest casino in the world

Hopefully soon we'll have a casino for every couple of people in Oklahoma...

Hopefully, there are more non-Oklahomans visiting our casinos than Oklahomans, but I'm not sure how that works out.

I'd like to see them add a nice theater venue. I think it would be good for the district to have a theater to bring more of the casino acts into the city, even if they are usually of the burnt out variety.

I agree. I went there a couple years ago and from the website it looked amazing. When we pulled into the parking lot I was very disappointed, it was like very large tents. The inside was still very impressive though.

It isn't just a giant tent anymore, and looks quite amazing now.

Hopefully they don't go as cheesy as Circus Circus.

Actually, from your post you have not been there in a couple of years but they have done a massive remodel on both the inside and outside of the casino with facades representing France, Beijing, London etc,, with the insides being these amazing fresco paintings murals and fountains. Also, they just had the grand opening of the Winstar Hotel and Resort which has a day spa, restaurants, championship golf course with pools and fountains. Very top notch!!

Wow. I have no idea how I didn't know about that. I've only been able to find a picture of the hotel (it's nice). What does the outside of the hotel look like?

Riverwind has already molested Hard Rock's casino. There is no contest there. WinStar is already on another level from the Hard Rock, too.

The Chickasaw Nation has yet to build a hotel that can compete with the CHR in Catoosa, but I wouldn't put it past them to build a resort hotel at some point - and the Adventure District would be a brilliant place for it. That area needs a hotel last year.

Ugly?!?!? The place is a visual masterpiece!! I drove by it a couple of weeks ago and when I saw it my draw dropped! It rivals the casinos in Las Vegas.

I don't think I'd like to stay at a hotel in that part of town though. It has potential to be a nice area, but the crime rate is too high. I barely even go to Tinseltown these days.

like i said forever here i dont like oklahoma casinos because all it is is food and gambling, its not like vegas, i like it that you have so many options to do, unique restaurants, large shopping theme area, explore(huge statues, water displays, shows)

I think that's mostly perception. There's an RV park right there. If tourists were a target, that would be hit first and I sure haven't heard about anything.

The outside is pretty nice. If something does get built, I hope that the inside doesn't end up looking like the above picture. It looks pretty awful and tacky.

The outside does look good, but it could use better lighting. If something does get built I hope that the inside doesn't look like the above picture. It looks really tacky.

They added all that facade crap because the tents looked exactlly like what they were...cheap.
