Yeah. Realistically the Dodgers will probably never do better than they've been doing this season and looks like attendance is around 4-5k for weekdays and 7-9k for weekends. So that's probably as good as it's going to get. I am interested to see what the crowds look like for the PCL Championship Series in late September as OKC should almost certainly get to host that.

Seating demand is not there; advertising demand IS there. Would not expect for a change to take place anytime soon.

If they made a change, it would be changing the tarps out with video boards. Get more ads in the same space.

Any idea why they had to remove the seats under the tarps? I'd always assumed they had left them there and installed the tarps over them.

someone once said they used those seats to replace other seats that had been damaged in the lower seating area.

That's why I was wondering how many seats were left. Had no idea that they had removed all of them lol.

This is correct. The unused upper sections were parted out over time as lower bowl seating became damaged or destroyed.

Time changes everything! Out with the old and in with the new! Some of those classic properties in Vegas are not as relevant as they once were. People have evolved and are always looking for more bang and amenities and modern environments!

True but some of the should be revamped and remodeled for namesake. Circus Circus and Treasure Island are two others that aren’t doing that good. It would suck to see those go the way of the dodo.

The Rio has become outright depressing and I’m not kidding you when I say this but a de facto stray cat shelter. I wonder with all these developments jacking up roommates on the strip if we’ll see a renaissance of off strip resorts.

I know some aren’t keen on this idea and I know the tragic story but it’d be cool to see the International brought back and with recent advancements in holograms have Elvis shows at times there with themed suites.

A's deal in Vegas is signed and sealed. The biggest winner in all of this is the City of Oakland. With the Raiders, Warriors, and A's gone they can focus on fixing their city, and they can start with removing the entire staduim complex and hopefully return it to the tax rolls. The hole Oakland has dug is pretty deep but step 1 is putting the shovel down.

Not all MLB owners are as thrilled with the move to Vegas as I thought they would be, starting with the Yankees.

The Las Vegas stadium would have the smallest capacity in the major leagues and the A’s would move from the 10th-largest television market in the U.S. to the 40th, possibly putting the A’s in line to became a perennial revenue-sharing payee.

Signed and sealed, but we will see about the delivery. I seriously doubt MLB is going to vote against relocating because the A's have no other options.

What about Portland, Nashville or San Jose. . .

. . . along with Las Vegas, all of these cities will be over saturated except Portland and San Jose.

Las Vegas MSA population: 2,322,985 - current major league franchises NHL, NFL
Portland MSA population: 2,509,489 - current major league franchises NBA
Nashville MSA population: 2,046,828 - current major league franchises NHL, NFL
San Jose MSA population: 1,938,524 - current major league franchises NHL

Formula: One major league franchise per one million population.

Las Vegas wants to eventually have NHL, NFL, MLB and NBA.

Oh, okay. Looks like Las Vegas (No 1. location for Athletics) will strip Oakland of both its major league franchises (NFL Raiders, MLB A's).

I have followed the Athletics saga for a few years, and I am of the opinion that with this ownership group nothing is settled until they actually take the field. They appear to back out of deals and snatch defeat from the jaws of victory at a dizzying pace. Add in that the Bally casino company that operates the Tropicana is a relatively new company that is growing at breakneck speed, plus GLPI actually owns the property, and it still looks less than 50-50 that the move actually happens.
