After the recent controversy about a proposed communications tower here I doubt something of that size would be approved in or near downtown OKC.

What was that one proposal from Lance Cargill (I think? Or someone else in the state govt who was probably indicted) to build a high-rise oil derrick to "compliment" the OKC skyline?

OKC was suppose to build a skyscraper oil derrick by the river somewhere. I don't know when that will ever complete. There was renderings posted on here. And also at the top where people can go up for sightseeing.
