Thread: Frank's Underwater Sports (Dive Shop)

Default Frank's Underwater Sports (Dive Shop)

    I'm all done.

I've been to Frank's Underwater Sports several times over the last few years. It's a bit of an effort (it's about 20 minutes out of the way for me). On at least 4 of those trips I've been there during their regular business hours and the door has been locked. I think once there was a sign explaining they were doing a class somewhere. Another time someone showed up late, but knew nothing about any of the equipment and said the "regular guy" would be back after lunch. The most recent was today - the sign says they open at 10:30am. That's when I was there - door locked, no sign of anyone inside.

They've seen the last of me. Locally owned merchants complain about internet retailers, but it's no wonder with customer service like this. Frank's has been around for a long time, so they must have enough customer base to make it. They've lost my business permanently.

There are other dive shops in town that are open on a regular basis. My personal preference is Hi-performance sports on N May. I think he still has a shop in Norman too but I could be wrong about that.

Other than possibly rescue diving, I can't imagine why anyone would want to dive in Oklahoma. No wonder the owner has to find other things to do with his time besides run an empty shop.
