I remember going into the Crystals on SW 74th a year or two before it closed. You could tell it was a shadow of its former self, broken games, broken projection tv, just general disrepair, and the food wasn't very good. Kinda sad, really.
Years later, my wife and I were on the north side of town, and decided to visit the Crystals on NW Expy. We walked up to the door, thinking the Saturday lunch crowd was awfully small, only to find a "Sorry, Closed Permanently" sign on the front door. As we were leaving, a lady in a minivan pulled up with a load of kids, balloons, and presents, obviously going in for a party, and we told her the place was shuttered. She was in disbelief, and said "But I've got a party already paid for here...." I felt awful for her. We suggested she try the Chuck E Cheese down the street, but I don't know if she did....
