Did I miss an article somewhere? All I can find is a post by Jeep upthread saying he’d seen an ad in the paper and then you reposting the ad..?

    That's what I meant.

Ingrid's just put out a press release that the Oklahoman and JR both re-wrote.

I never made it to Ingrid's before the change in management but my friends and I got it for pickup last night and it was amazing. I had the light wiener schnitzel with red cabbage, sauerkraut, and hot German potato salad and they all ruled- will definitely be going back in the near future.

Did they actually change management/sell it? I thought the owners just gave up trying and kept going as-is...

^^^ Is the location on Youngs, or the one on NW 64th & May?

I just hope that someone with the same commitment to excellence picks up where Lee Burrus leaves off. If not, Oklahoma City will have lost a classic, world class, one-of-a-kind establishment.
I love Ingrids as well, but it is far from world class and is one of a kind here in OKC, not everywhere.

Had to go to Ingrid's yesterday to get a pie for Mother's Day (we stopped going there long ago unless somebody else needed us to go, quality has gone way downhill in the past couple of years), and noticed something weird. They don't take cards any longer, just cash and checks, and checks are to be made out to Lee Burrus. Sounds slightly shady to me, have *never* written a check to a restaurant and made it payable to a person.

Per the oklahoman in 2018, he's the owner and was tring to sell it then.

Went a couple months ago and had the same cash-only issue. They said it was something related to covid but I didn't buy that. Also, they said it had only been down "a couple weeks" at the time but I suspect it's been down longer. Probably got tired of credit card fees or something.

I can understand the fees, but a check made payable to the owner personally? Doesn't seem right...

Probably got tired of reporting his income to the IRS.

Ha, I was actually thinking of the OTC instead of the IRS...

When they switched to cash only I was wondering if they were in trouble.

Yikes. Would love for Ingrid's to sell and keep going with new ownership.

I wonder why they were initially ordered to cease business. Taxes?

    Yes.

The notice is from the OK Tax Commission.

Meh, their food has sucked for a few years now, and now that he's a confirmed tax cheat and defied the orders to shut down, not gonna patronize them. I'm sure they'll do quite well again, though.

I’m guessing you have never been a small business owner? I think you would be surprised how many business owners have had tax troubles through the years.

No, I’ve never had a small business, and I pay my taxes every year, but the food, at least the pastries were pretty bad. Not just OKC, but food businesses can be successful, but not so good.
