Like the mantis and the diplopods. I watched a six-inch millipede for about five minutes several years ago. The coordination among the legs, wavelike it was, was amazing. What's the first one? Whiptail? Pseudoscorpion?
DISGUSTING!!! How poisonous are they?
Top guy is a Tanzanian tailless whip scorpion. Damon variegatus
The whip scorpion, praying mantis, and millipedes have no venom, however millipedes are known to secrete noxious substances when harassed too much. The spider, tarantula, and scorpion obviously have venom but none of the species I keep have been known to fatally injure human beings. Not that I handle the venomous ones, I keep my respect and distance and admire their habits. You keep fish don't you??
Yeah, but none of my fish are deadly.
Anyone remember Agnew All Pets that used to be by Cattleman's? They sold all kinds of exotics.... Lions, tigers, bears (go ahead and say, you know you want to).
Oh my
The building is still there. I remember they were already in financial trouble when they got caught feeding the animals a sugar filled diet to make them seem alert and healthy. They also had a incident in the 80's where 2 or 3 lions escaped while being transported downtown and caused quite a panic (for no real reason as they had been partially sedated for the road trip). Also, a few of their larger animals died while at the store. Not to mention some laws changed and made it harder to own an exotic large animal in the state.

...acquired her in '99 and she was 3 months old at the time -- should live 60 or 70 years (if she lives to be 70, and I the same time -- that'd make me 92). Her vocabulary is just over 100 words. It's been said that African Greys employ logic, not just mimicry. I would have to agree. {:+)
Owning an african grey is like adopting a child. They require that much time. Except they dnt move out at 18. So don't go that way unless you really, really are committed to it for life. Many owners end up willing them to their kids or grandkids.
